Источником света служат групповые сборки полупроводниковых кристаллов, покрытые по специальной, запатентованной технологии люминофорной композицией. Люминофорная композиция помимо всего является первичной линзой и формирует световой поток в заданный телесный угол. Полупроводниковые кристаллы смонтированы на алюминиевую плату по технологии chip-on-board для обеспечения максимального рассеивания и передачи тепловой энергии.
Уникальность разработки заключается в том, что технология производства источников света (светодиодов) , разработанная и запатентованная компанией, позволяет выполнять их открытыми, при этом они не обладают слепящим эффектом. Общий световой поток от светильника Армстронг выполненного на основе светодиодных источников света LINE 290-500-48 может достигать 5000 Лм, что не имеет аналогов как в светодиодном так и в ламповом исполнении и позволяет использовать светильник не только в офисных, но и в торгово-складских помещениях. Также использование светодиодов позволяет использовать диммирование или управление яркостью светильника в зависимости от времени суток или класса помещения, что не позволяют делать светильники на основе люминесцентных ламп.
